Leg Drop Extensions
Leg Drop Extensions | Nichole Mellison
Leg drop extensions are a more difficult variation of the bent knee leg drops. Now you will extend your legs out making the exercise more difficult and requiring greater core strength. Like bent knee leg drops, leg drop extensions are a great exercise for working hip flexors, core, lower back, and abdominals. Adding comfortable weight (3.6 lbs) with the Exercise Star increases your degree of difficulty and should help progress you toward achieving your fitness goals. Press your lower back into the floor to support your core as you move your feet in and out. Your core, including back and ab muscles, need to support the movement created primarily by your hip flexors and quads in moving your legs.
Leg drop extensions are a great addition to your exercise repertoire to help you progress. They should NOT be the first exercise you perform and will likely follow a mastery of the bent knee leg drops.
Watch Nichole in the video for proper form and try to emulate her movements when you’re ready. Go at a deliberate pace, not too fast, not too slow.
